Here Comes The Raya

hey, lama rasanya tak update blog ni. life as a degree student is quite busy. new environment, new people and also a lot of new tasks. anyway, this isn’t the right time for me to share my new life, sebab sekarang dah nak raya (tetibe)

raya, the first thing come across our mind is baju raya. Tak kira lah lelaki or perempuan, semua buat2 busy nak prepare baju raya. Ada yang beli, custom made, and yang ala2 pandai jahit, that won’t be a problem. Dalam kita sebuk pilih baju raya, adakah kita sedar apa yang kita beli mahupun buat?

To be fashionable on hari raya (katanya), kita sering refer kepada majalah mahupun artis2. Tapi sedarkah kita yang sebenarnya kita bukan artis. We are what we are. We are not in the fab lane. We are normal people. Dalam pemilihan baju raya rasanya perlulah lihat ke mana kita nak pergi on hari raya. Buat show depan crowd ataupun pergi rumah jiran sebelah rumah?

Baju sarat perincian kadang2 nampak semak dan sakit kepala. Bukan tak cantik, memang tak di nafikan, ia sangat cantik (sangat), but the truth is we have to consider who we are. Kita bukan nak pergi red carpet.  Well. Kalau kita tengok international artist on red carpet pon takde la busy dgn detailing sampai penuh ke kaki.

Sebenarnya baju penuh perincian ni dah terlalu cliché. Just a few week ago, I went shopping with my sister for her lil boy. What surprised me, baju kurung untuk kanak2 sekarang pun dah penuh perincian. I was stood in front of the baju kururng for 5 minutes. Kadang2 kan, semua baju kita rasa nak letak beads. Before kita nak letak any detailing to our baju, consider the color, corak and kemana kita nak pakai baju tu. Some baju, dah la corak lintang pukang, tak cukup sakit kepala bila tengok, di tambah pulak beads dgn segala jenis batu berwarna warni. Dan tidak ketinggalan, LACE.  

Some people said, pakaian kita mestilah selesa. Kalau macam tu baik pakai t-shirt dan kain batik on hari raya. Sometimes, to be fashionable we have to get out from our comfort zone, but at the same time not to be over the top. Untuk keselamatan, do ask people opinion. Kadang2 kita rasa baju tu ok jeh, tapi di mata orang kita nampak “oh my god!” Saya selalu mengalaminya. Sedih.

This morning, I was watching a fashion channel, and they were interviewing some boutique owner, they ask what’s new for this raya. Guess what she answer? PEPLUM. Awak! Peplum? so baru, kita semua tak terpikir kan? Durghh! Dan pengacara tu siap Tanya lagi peplum tu apa. Tak tau la dia saja Tanya or dia betul2 tak tahu.  Well musim peplum nampaknya tak surut lagi untuk raya this year. Saya tak boleh nak kata apa2 sebab saya pun buat peplum for my sister. Lol. Maybe musim dia lambat sampai dekat semua orang. Takpe, take it easy.

Pernah tak you guys nampak dress or baju kurung modern dgn sleeve yang ada dua puff, satu dekat siku satu lagi dekat pergelangan tangan. Whoever design it, there must be something wrong somewhere. Dah macam lengan hulk je kak oi.

Kadang2 people around us yg menjadikan kita sebegitu. Dan untuk mengubah mindset seseorang itu sangat sukar. Especially yang dah berusia. Betul lah kata pepatah melentur buluh biar dari rebungnya. Orang yang dah berusia ni mereka akan pakai apa yang mereka suka, lantaklah orang nak kata apa. It’s true. My mom for example, saya cuba design something modern for her and it end up she laugh at me. Sedihkan? Well my mom is my biggest muse; she knows what she wants to wear. Standing ovation to you mom!

Apapun baju yang akan kita pakai raya nanti, make sure ia tak nampakkan yang kita ini bukan penduduk bumi. Be yourself. To me, saya lebih senang melihat wanita memakai baju kurung kain cotton. Di tambah dengan cucuk sanggul, so classy and chic. Mereka nampak lebih ayu dan nampak tidak terlalu beriya. Less is more. I’m not a professional writer, just learn to be it. Pakailah apa yang kita nak pakai, in the end yang kena gelak kita juga, bukan orang lain, kan?

Bag Packing Around Shah Alam

this is how i spent my holiday, sewing a bag. i can't stand to carry too many things everyday and climbing those hills to reach class. this bag would be the solution to all of the problems; a tote bag made of red cotton drill and black leather inspired by Givenchy bag (LOL)

and now i can focus to complete my design which left 4 days more! MY GOD!

Spread The Mustard

say hello to the monsters out there!

it's been quite a while since my last update, i'm quite busy actually (really?) with my new life as a fashion student (again) at the new place and environment. it's been a month now, still i can't believe that i'm here and doing things that i thought i'm not gonna do it again. well, life is unpredictable. just go with the flow..

this is my current obsession, i can't look any thing in mustard (color). when i saw something in mustard, my heart keep telling me to grab it! and i have the strong feeling that mustard will be my next top color!

 


 

and for some, they will combine it with royal blue, it will look a bit classy and a bit of vintage effect. isn't that stunning?

 

just few days ago, one of my consultant (wow) told me that there's still a color that makes mustard stand out and of coz you'll be the center of the attention. the color is PLUM! to be honest i've never heard that color before, and thanks to mr. google! LOL

perfect combination to make a statement! these two colors will be on my top list for my next project that i've named it FU+URISTICULTURE; the fusion culture! #FUTURISTICULTURE
